Zaretan

Zarethan is mentioned in the Bible village in the Jordan Valley.

The first mention is found in Jos 3.16 EU, after which the water of the Jordan stood up " at Adam, the city that lies near Zarethan " to a dam and the people allowed the crossing of the river. Later, in 1 Kings 7.46 EU is reported that during Solomon's reign " between Succoth and Zarethan " copper castings were made in clay molds. The parallel account in 2 Chr 4,17 EU suggests that this is another way of writing Zarethan in the place name Zeredah.
