Zasa parish

Zasa ( German: Weesen ) is a town in south-eastern Latvia.

1559 is a Good Weesen before documented. As of 1644 the possession of the family of Sass, from whose name the Latvian name is derived Zasa belonged. The manor house was burned down during the Revolution in 1905. Since 1938 is Zasa center of a municipality that is part of the district Jēkabpils ( Jēkabpils novads ) today.
