Zatyki, IÅ‚awa County

Zatyki ( German Kattern ) is a town in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in northeastern Poland. The place belongs to Gmina Zalewo in powiat Iławski.

Zatyki lies in the moraine landscape of the Upper Lands, about four kilometers southeast of Zalewo.

History

The place immersed in the sources first as Satheken ( Ordensfoliant 161), then as Kathreyn ( Great interest book ) on.

Hook Interest village

Kattern was founded by the Teutonic Order as a hook Interest village. The place consisted of 39 hooks, three of which hook after 1400 were to the estate of a small open air. This freehold, which differed only by his legal situation from the other Old Prussian farms, later became the nucleus of the manor.

Good Kattern

In 1470, prescribed the Grand Master Heinrich von Falkenhayn Hans Richtenberg the sake of his services in the late war the two villages Kather Dorff and Scherpau to Magdeburg rights. It housed in eleven residential buildings 130 inhabitants, all Protestant and German-speaking.

Zatyki since 1945

After integration into the Polish state, the German inhabitants were expelled and replaced by Poles. Kattern was the newly formed Gmina Zalewo slammed and renamed by Ministerial Decree of 4 April 1950 in Zatyki. Zatyki is co-supervised by the mayor's office in Rąbity.
