Závraty

Závraty ( German Zawraten ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers south-west of Ceske Budejovice in South Bohemia České Budějovice and belongs to the.

Geography

Závraty is located at the foot of Blanský in Budweiser pool. The village is located on the right side of the creek Homolský creek, which is north dammed pond fishpond in Závratský. In the north, the Na Klínaru collected ( 457 m ) south of the Na Vrchu (509 m) and in the southwest of Švehlany (520 m). To the north- east extends the České Budějovice Airport.

Neighboring towns are Kaliště u Lipí in the north, Mokré and Šindlovy Dvory in the northeast, Nové Homole in the east, Černý Dub and U Nádrazí the southeast, Dvůr Koroseky, U Nové hospody and Vrábče in the south, U Zastávky the southwest, U Zajíčka and Hradce in the West and Habří, Lipí and Mrzutá in the northwest.

History

West of the village remains of a prehistoric settlement have been found from the bronze, Hallstatt - La Tène period and in the hallway Travni. Not far from a hillside grave from the time it was discovered around 750-500 BC in the monolayer U Zajíčka in which a temporal Hallstatt chieftain's grave is suspected.

The first written mention of the castle belonging to Korosek village took place in 1365. Later, the city of Budweis bought the estate Korosek with the associated villages and sold it in 1636 to Johann Anton I. von Eggenberg in Cesky Krumlov. In 1840 Zawraten / Závraty consisted of 13 houses with 179 inhabitants. Parish and school location was Payreschau.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Zawraten / Závraty 1850 a settlement of the municipality Vrábče in the District Commission Budějovice / Budweis. 1900 decided the villages Zawraten, Neuhummeln, Cernoduben Kleinkorosek and the establishment of a joint volunteer fire department. 1914 lived in the village 146 consistently Czech -speaking people .. On 1 July 1960, the separation of the village of Vrábče and Reversed My Dung after Homole. Since 1 January 1992 Závraty is the first time in its history was a separate municipality.
