Zbigniew Chlebowski

Zbigniew Chlebowski ( born March 8, 1964 in Żarów ) is a Polish politician, Platforma Obywatelska (PO, Civic Platform ).

Life

Zbigniew Chlebowski graduated from the Agricultural University in Wrocław ( Akademia Rolnicza we Wrocławiu ). He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Economics Poznan ( Akademia Ekonomiczna w Poznaniu ).

From 1990 to 2001, Chlebowski mayor of his hometown Żarów. He was also the 1990-1998 Council Member and Member of the Presidium of the Parliament of the Province Wałbrzych. For his work he was awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland. After the dissolution of Wałbrzych Voivodeship he became a councilor in the Parliament of the new Province of Lower Silesia. He was active in the commissions for regional policy and economy.

In 2001, Zbigniew Chlebowski moved as a member of the newly formed Platforma Obywatelska first time in the Sejm. Even in the subsequent parliamentary elections, most recently at the 2007 election he was elected to the Sejm. In 2007 he was also elected Chairman of the Group of PO. On 2 October 2009, he has been " provisionally suspended " from his position as Chairman of the Group, as it is supposed to be involved in a corruption scandal, in which it comes to the alleged prevention of the introduction of a levy on gambling to finance the 2012 European Football Championship. Chlebowski is married and has a son and a daughter.
