Zbigniew Lengren

Zbigniew Lengren ( born February 2, 1919 in Tula, Russia, † 1 October 2003 in Warsaw) was a Polish cartoonist, graphic designer, illustrator and poet.

His childhood was spent Lengren in Thorn, where his father Juliusz was representative of the Swedish company Ericsson, and studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University there later.

As a cartoonist, he made his debut in 1944 in the journal Stańczyk. Since 1946, he published his cartoons in the magazine Przekrój, where he remained for over 50 years faithful. His most famous character with which he was well known in Germany, is the absent-minded professor Filutek that must be rescued by his doggie filus from many a bad situation.

Lengren was in Poland as well as a poet who wrote poems especially for children, are known. One of his books was published under the title Black, white and striped children 's adaptation by James Kruss in children's book publishing house Berlin. As an illustrator Lengren created the images to the Polish editions of Doctor Dolittle - books. In West Germany Lothar -Günther Buchheim published in his private publishing a professor - Filutek book.
