Zbigniew Zapasiewicz

Zbigniew Zapasiewicz (* September 13, 1934 in Warsaw, † July 14, 2009 ) was a Polish actor, theater director and instructor.

Life

Zapasiewicz studied 1951/1952 at the Polytechnic University of Warsaw chemistry to then at the State Drama School ( PWST ) to study acting in Warsaw. In 1956 he finished his studies. With the PWST he was connected as a lecturer since 1969. He was formerly Head of the ensemble Teatr Współczesny in Warsaw, where he was already engaged 1959-1966. In the meantime, he was a member of the Teatr Dramatyczny, Warsaw ( 1966-1983 ) and the Common Theatre, Warsaw ( 1983-1987 ). In 1987 he was appointed director of the Teatr Dramatyczny, which he directed until 1990.

His film debut was in 1963 in Zapasiewicz January Łomnickis Wiano, his first leading role he played until 1972, however, in addition to Maja Komorowska in Salvation by Edward Żebrowski. From 1976, he worked regularly with director Krzysztof Zanussi; for his role in the film Camouflage (1976 ) Zapasiewicz received the Best Actor Award at the National Film Festival in Gdansk. A highlight of his career was the role of a chief editor in Andrzej Wajda Without anesthesia (1978). In the 1980s, he was - not least because of his appearance in Krzysztof Kieślowski's A Short Film About Killing (1987 ) - a popular performer and has received numerous awards for his work on stage and in film and television, including in 1980 the Polish State Prize.

Zbigniew Zapasiewicz was the nephew of director Jerzy Kreczmar maternal and actor January Kreczmar.
