Zboriv Raion

The Rajon Sboriw (Ukrainian Зборівський район / rayon Sboriwskyj; Russian Зборовский район / Sborowski raion ) is a Ukrainian raion or district in Ternopil Oblast. He has an overall population of 47040, and has an area of ​​0978 km ². It includes a city, an urban-type settlement and 90 villages.

History

The Rajon was founded in 1940 after the annexation of eastern Poland by the Soviet Union in 1963 were 30 villages of the dissolved Rajons Salizsi and 36 villages also resolved Rajons Welykyj Hlybotschok it. 1967 saw the addition of 9 other villages of the Rajons Ternopil, since there is Rajon in its present dimensions.

Geography
