Žďár (Blansko District)

Zdar ( German Schdiar ) is a municipality with 354 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. The place is located in the Moravian Karst, 4.5 km north-east of Rájec- Jestřebí and belongs to the Okres Blansko on.

Together with the neighboring southern Petro Vice Zdar is about 565 meters above sea level on a plateau. West of the village the Trhůvka (564 m) and the north-east Brusna (607 m) rises in the vicinity of the place are some sinkholes, the village stream trickles 500 east of Zdar.

History

Zdar was named in 1371 as part of the Gutsherrschaft Bořitov first time. 1540 Bohusek appropriated by Drnovice on Raitz the villages Zdar and Holešín to. The Chapel of St. Florian was built in 1876. 1878 a fire broke out that destroyed 50 houses and 8 at the inhabitants died. 1992 Zdar was connected to the gas supply.
