Zdeněk Liška

Zdenek Liska ( born March 16, 1922 in Smečno; † 13 August 1983 Prague ) was a Czechoslovak composer.

Biography

Zdenek Liska was born into a musical family. He showed great talent and studied arranging and composition at the Prague Conservatory. From 1944 to 1945 he was conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Slany. After the Second World War, he began to work in Zlín as a film composer. In 1947 he composed the music for several animated short films. Later he was to compose the possibility of feature films. In all, he wrote the music for over 160 different television and film productions, including well-known films such as Business in the main street. In 1965 he was awarded for his music in the house in the Karpfengasse the German Film Award for Best Film Music.
