Zdeněk Vaněk

Zdeněk Vanek ( born July 19, 1968 in Jaroměř ) is a Czech handball coach and former handball player. He coached in the 2010/11 season the HSC 2000 Coburg in the second handball league.

Zdeněk Vanek played in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and in the Czech Republic at Dukla Prague and has been with this team several times Czech champion. In September 1992 he moved to VfL Günzburg, from where he moved in July 1993 to HSV Suhl and there several times narrowly missed promotion to the first division. This was achieved with the ThSV Eisenach, which he joined in July 1997. From July 2000 to June 2001, he played the LTV Wuppertal and from July 2001 at TuS Nettelstedt. From July 2003 to September 2004, he played at Stralsund HV in the first German handball league in defense.

After his retirement as a player Vanek in 2004 Handball coach. In the season 2004/2005 he oversaw the regional league TV Jahn Duderstadt, from July 2005 to November 2006 in the second division the ThSV Eisenach. Then he was in the season 2007/2008 Trainer of the Thuringian Oberliga SV Town & Country Behringen / Sonneborn, with whom he reached the league. In his former club Stralsund HV he signed in June 2008 after his promotion to the Handball Bundesliga a two -year contract and coached the team in the 2008/2009 Handball - Bundesliga season. Since the club did not get the license for the 2009/10 season, the contract was terminated. Zdeněk Vanek trained from the season 2009/2010 back to SV Town & Country Behringen / Sonneborn. In October 2010 he took over the training of the crew of the HSC 2000 Coburg. In summer 2011, he was replaced Hrovje Horvat from as coach of the men's team. Subsequently Vanek club coach in the Coburg Youth Department.

Vanek played 168 times for the Czech men's national handball team. He took part in the Handball competitions of the Olympic Games in 1988 and 1992 as well as three World Cups and two European Championships.

Zdeněk Vanek is married and has two sons, one of which is Jakub Vanek Czech handball junior players selection.
