Zé Elias

José Elias Moedim Júnior ( born September 25, 1976 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian football player in midfield.

He finished his career in 2009 in the Austrian Bundesliga SCR Altach. He is the older brother of Rubinho, one of the current keeper of Genoa CFC.

Club career

Zé Elias is one of the youngest players to ever play for the Brazilian club Corinthians Paulista. Already during the 1993/94 season, he attracted the interest of PSV Eindhoven on itself, but it did not at the time the contract is signed. Only in 1996 he moved to Europe where he played for Bayer 04 Leverkusen for one season. This was followed by, among others, renowned clubs such as Inter Milan, Bologna FC, Olympiakos Piraeus, before he moved to his native Brazil to Santos, 2006. In May 2008, he announced his retirement as an active player known, and would henceforth be a scout for Inter Milan in Brazil. However, he signed in June 2008 a new contract and still played one season for the Austrian Bundesliga SCR Altach before he ended his career again. Previously, he was still at Metalurh Donetsk and Omonia Nicosia in Ukraine and Cyprus. He has in addition to the Brazilian and the Italian citizenship.

In the Brazilian national team, he was between 1995 and 1999 used a total of 22 times.
