Zed (Band)

Zed was one of four New Zealand pop-rock band that was founded in 1998.

History

Zed was originally founded under the name Supra of three students of Christchurch 's Cashmere High School ( Nathan King, Ben Campbell and Adrian Palmer ). A band was always her biggest dream. Together with manager Ray Colombus they could fulfill this finally.

2000, finally came another member of a trio, the second guitarist Andrew Lynch. Shortly after the founding of King felt it lacked something in the band, so they put a Lynch.

Together with producer David Nicholas, the first album was recorded silencers. The music and the vocals were recorded in the Revolver Studios in Auckland, during the mixing and held " final touch " the CD to the Mangrove Studios near Sydney, Australia. The recordings lasted for seven weeks.

Silencer was the hit album of 2000 in New Zealand and made it to first go to # 1 on the singles charts there. In addition, it was awarded with triple platinum and spawned six hit singles. Renegade Fighter was also found in the New Zealand charts of the year 2000 at No. 1.

Since 2005, Zed are in a " long break ". All members look around in new music projects:

  • Nathan King launched a solo career and now lives in London.
  • Ben Campbell and Adrian Palmer formed a new band Atlas. However, Palmer left the band.
  • Andy Lynch worked as a live musician in Auckland, but joined Atlas in after Palmer had left the band.
