Zeebo

The Zeebo is a game console produced by Qualcomm and Tectoy. She is the first developed in Brazil game console. The Centre can be the start of sales was in June 2009. The target market is emerging economies.

Overview

The Zeebo was designed specifically for the market of fast-growing middle class in countries like Brazil, Russia, India and China. The target group mainly be aimed at potential players who can not afford a game console from established competitors such as Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. The console itself will initially be offered in Brazil at a price of around 150 euros. The technical features of the console are optimized for use in emerging markets. Instead of using traditional storage media, the games are sold exclusively through a UMTS network named Zeebonet. Many game publishers such as Electronic Arts, THQ and Activision Blizzard have already agreed to publish games for the Zeebo. The games FIFA 09, Evil Prey, Brain Challenge and Need for Speed: Carbon will be pre-installed on the console. Quake is offered for start date as a free download. More games will be available for prices between about 5 and 15 dollars per song to download.
