Zeeman (crater)

Zeeman is an impact crater near the south pole on the side of the moon and therefore can not be observed directly from Earth. It is located southeast of the crater Numerov and northwest of Ashbrook.

The outer wall of Zeeman is irregularly eroded and the thickness of the inner attachments varies to a considerable extent. The northern crater wall is covered by the satellite crater Zeeman Y, which comes close to the flat crater floor to close. In the western edge of a small crater at an incision follows, which runs up to the crater floor. The crater interior surface is, as with many craters of the moon back, of strikes and the remains of ablated crater scarred. Near the crater mid- point and slightly offset to the southeast rises to a low central rise.
