Żegocino

Żegocino ( German name blessing Thin) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the rural community Malechowo ( Malchow ) in a circle Sławno ( Schlawe ).

Geographical location

Żegocino located ten kilometers south of the county town Sławno north of Grabowtals. The village is accessible via the side road that branches off in Bobrowice (Alt Bewersdorf ) from the main road and about 6 Smardzewo ( Schmarsow ) Lejkowo ( Leikow ) and Jacinki ( Jatzingen ) to Polanów ( Pollnow ) leads. By 1945, the place was a railway station on the now disused railway line small Schlawe - Pollnow - Sydow Schlawer the tracks.

Żegocino is surrounded by the municipalities: Karwice ( Karwitz ) and Smardzewo ( Schmarsow ) in the north, Ostrowiec ( Wusterwitz ) and Podgórki ( German Puddiger ) in the east, Święcianowo ( Wiesenthal ) in the south and Paproty ( Parpart ) in the west.

History

Since the 16th century blessing Thin is those detected as a fief from Heydebreck. In the 17th century, the families of Puttkamer and von Massow shares, which are pledged in part to the Podewils in Krag. 1751 acquires colonel and Amtshauptmann Carl Wilhelm von Kleist blessing Thin. At the approach of the troops of the Red Army in the spring of 1945, the blessing Unterthiner went on the run. With 25 cars and a tractor ( for the older villagers ) took the trek towards Schlawe and Pustamin (now Polish: Postomino ) at Stolpmünde ( Ustka ), but failed the planned embarkation on the Baltic Sea. On March 8, 1945, the blessing Unterthiner were provided by the Red Army troops and forced through small Strellin ( Strzelinko ) to return.

In the fall of 1945, the expulsion of families without labor began. Last -be emigrants were able to leave the place until 1958, which was incorporated under the name Żegocino now in the Polish province of Pomerania ( West Pomeranian Voivodeship since 1999 ) and today is part of the gmina Malechowo in powiat Slawienski.

Church

The population of blessing was thin before 1945 almost all Protestant denomination. The village belonged to the parish of German Puddiger ( Podgórki ), which was united with the parish Wusterwitz ( Ostrowiec ) Parish Wusterwitz. The church patronage recently served manor owner Anette von Blumenthal. Last German minister was Pastor Heinz Anger.

Since 1945 the inhabitants of Żegocino are predominantly Catholic. Furthermore Podgórki is the parish seat of of the - is supervised Ostrowiec parish, which is in the deanery in the Diocese of Koszalin - Kolobrzeg Sławno of the Catholic Church in Poland - but now Catholic. School

The room school stood until 1945 and prior to its demolition in the village. With teacher's apartment they had been built in 1848. By 1927 the children of Wiesenthal ( Święcinanowo ) visited the school in blessing Thin. Last German teacher was Paul Lawrenz.
