Zehbitz is a district of the city in the district of Southern Anhalt Anhalt- Bitterfeld, in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

Zehbitz between Köthen (Anhalt) and Bitterfeld- Wolfen. Northeast of Zehbitz is the headwaters of the Fuhne. From here the Fuhne drains into two directions, east to the trough and west to the Saale.

History

Zehbitz was first mentioned in 1469 as Cewitz documented.

Until the formation of the unified community Southern Anhalt on 1 January 2010 Zehbitz was an independent municipality in the administrative community Southern Anhalt with the associated hamlets Lenne joke Wehlau (both places were on July 1, 1950 incorporated by Zehbitz ) and Zehmitz ( on October 10, 1965 incorporated to Zehbitz ). Last Mayor of Zehbitz Wilfried Fritsche.

Culture and sights

The Church in Zehbitz is a plastered brick building with a timber-framed bell tower. The roof of the tower is pyramidal. The building was built in 1833 with construction costs of 3,000 thalers. 1996/1997 the church was renovated for 180,000 marks.

Economy and infrastructure

West of Zehbitz runs the highway 183 of Bitterfeld -Wolfen to Köthen (Anhalt).
