Zeilberg

The Zeilberg is 463 m above sea level. NHN in high mountain nature park and county Haßberge in the east of Lower Franconia, about 2 kilometers east of Maroldsweisach. He is one of the few volcanoes visible today of the Hero Burger transition band and namesake of the Zeilberge, the geological fluent, but separated as the highest part of the Itz - Baunach hill country to the west by the Baunachtal, go into the "actual" Haßberge.

The volcano is 16 million years old and consists of Nephelinbasanit. He has already lost its height by the breakdown in the basalt quarry.

Tourism

Around the basalt quarry leads an adventure path. Furthermore, the house Zeilberg is a popular venue.
