Zekkyō Gakkyū

Scary Lessons (Japanese绝 叫 学 级, Zekkyō Gakkyū, dt " cry - school class ") is a manga series illustrator Emi Ishikawa. The series can be classified in the genres of horror and shōjo.

Content

In short, self-contained stories deal mostly with young girls end their ordinary daily life by mysterious circumstances in a single nightmare. Are told the stories of Yomi ( jp. for Sheol ), a ghost girl without abdomen. The main characters of the individual stories are responsible for their own destiny and in some cases pay for it with their lives.

Publication

The directing itself to a female audience Manga appears in Japan since issue 10 /2008 of 3 September 2008 in the magazine Ribon. The chapters were also published in the previous 13 anthologies. Since December 2009, the manga is published in German as Scary Lessons at Tokyopop where eleven volumes have been published. A French translation will appear in Tonkam, a Chinese at Sharp Point in Taiwan.

In the summer of 2013, a live-action adaptation will be published.

Reception

The German magazine AnimaniA writes some of the stories were like the present day transmitted tales of Edgar Allan Poe. The drawings were indeed carried out the shōjo genre accordance with strong Kindchenschema, especially large eyes, this reinforces the shock effect of the stories but still.
