Żeliszów

Żeliszów ( German greed village ) is a village in the Polish Lower Silesian Voivodeship. It belongs to the rural community of Boleslawiec ( Boleslawiec ) in the powiat Boleslawiecki.

Geographical location

Żeliszów located ten kilometers south-west from the city of Boleslawiec. The A4 motorway is 14 km northwest. The capital of Lower Silesia Wroclaw province, 85 km (airline ) east of the village.

History

From 1975 to 1998 the village belonged in the rural community of Boleslawiec to Jelenia Gora Voivodeship. 2010 lived 538 people in Żeliszów.

Monuments

A monument of world - class - In the village there is a Protestant church by the architect Carl Gotthard Langhans built in the years 1796 and 1797. The church stands since 1945 left in a ruinous state and threatens to collapse. The Warsaw Foundation " Twoje dziedzictwo " (your heritage) has been collecting money in 2013 to repair especially the roof and to protect the building from further decay.

Also located in the village of the Catholic parish church of Johann Nepomuk from the mid-14th century, the St. John of Nepomuk is dedicated. It was rebuilt in 1600 and in the 19th century.
