Željko Petrović

Željko Petrović ( kyr. Жељко Петровић; born November 13, 1965 in Nikšić, Yugoslavia ) is a former professional football player and current team manager of the Japanese first division club Urawa Red Diamonds.

He began his career in 1987 at the Yugoslav club FK Budućnost Podgorica. In 1990 he moved to Dinamo Zagreb, and the following year the Spanish Sevilla. He subsequently worked for the Dutch club, he went to Japan in 1998 to Urawa Red Diamonds. In 2004 he finished his playing career at RKC Waalwijk.

In 2006, he became a coach with the Portuguese club Boavista Porto. There he was after just two months, due to failure, dismissed. 2007 to 2008 he coached his former club RKC Waalwijk. For the following season, he was taken by Martin Jol in the coaching staff of Hamburger SV.

Between 1990 and 1998 he played 18 times for the Yugoslav national team.
