Žena za pultem

The woman behind the counter ( Original title: Žena za pultem ) is a Czechoslovak television series, which focuses on the experiences of the seller Anna Holubová. The scripts for the series came from Jaroslav Dietl, directed by Jaroslav Dudek.

Content

In the series, the events of the Prague shop assistant Anna Holubová be told. This refers to her work as head of the delicatessen department in a department store in Prague's Smíchov in the first episode. Change of residence and a new job - Anna Holubová had previously a department store in another district of Prague led - to after the divorce from her husband mark a new beginning in their lives.

Anna is an accomplished professional. This, and their open and honest character she quickly acquires the trust of their colleagues and superiors. They must free himself from some uncertainties.

The operational period of the series begins at New Year and extends over a year. The series is divided into 12 parts, each part is associated with a month. This is made clear not only by the insertion of the month name. Even the act itself makes reference to seasonal events. So (March) International Women's committed and celebrated Easter for example, in the third episode.

Background

As the location for many of the exterior shots was a real department store on the square of the course of the 14th October ( tschech. Namesti 14 října ) in Prague's Smíchov. This department store, there is however no longer, it has now been demolished. There is now a modern office building in its place.
