The Zentis GmbH & Co. KG, based in Aachen is a German company in the food industry.

The company is known under the brand name Zentis, main products are fruit preparations, jams and confectionery. The company provides products for both end users as well as for further use in other foods, especially dairy industry. In the latter Zentis is the European market leader. The company has subsidiaries in Poland, Hungary, Russia and the United States. 2012 Zentis the company Sweet Ovations LLC and thus two more plants in the U.S. adopted.

History

The company was founded in 1893 by Franz Zentis Zentis as colonial goods and grocery store. The idea to mix dried apricots and sugar to a jam, laid the foundations for economic success. On the reconstruction after the Second World War, the addition of products to the production of fine confectionery, such as Marzipan products followed. Through decisive expansion of the production program succeeded the long-term sole director Heinz- Gregor Johnen, the annual turnover of 14.3 million DM in the year he took office in 1964 hochzuschrauben to 511 million DM in 1995.

Worth mentioning

The advertising figure of Zentis was up in the 1990s " Zentino ". Zentis was a partner of the Alemannia Aachen. Zentis invented the first company to chocolate chips, which do not dissolve in yogurt, but remain stable.
