Žeraviny

Žeraviny ( German Scherawin, formerly Zierawin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south of Veseli nad Moravou and belongs to Okres Hodonín.

Geography

Žeraviny is located on the right side of Velička in Dolnomoravský úval ( Southern March basin). Through the village of Mlýnský leads Nahon ( Mühlbach ). North-east rises the Radošov (244 m) and in the northwest of Drážky (227 m).

Neighboring towns are Zarazice and Veseli nad Moravou in the north, Kozojídky in the northeast, Hroznová Lhota in the east, Kněždub in the south, Tvarožná Lhota, Doubravka and Strážnice in the southwest and Liderovice and Vnorovy in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of belonging to the reign Ostroh village was in 1447, when Mikuláš was enrolled by Vojslavice as the new owner in the country table. The oldest town seal dates from the 18th century, it became a tree.

After the replacement of patrimonial Žeravinky / Scherawin formed in 1850 a part of the community Žeravinky - Kozojídky in the District Commission Göding. From 1867 both villages were getremnnte ways. At the end of the 19th century the village was as Žeravín and ultimately as Žeraviny. Between 1949 and 1960 the village belonged to Veseli nad Moravou Okres and came to the resolution back to Okres Hodonín. Since 2004 Žeraviny leads a coat of arms and banners.
