Zhang Sanfeng

Zhang Sanfeng (Chinese张三丰, Pinyin Zhang Sanfeng, W.-G. Chang San -feng ) is a legendary hero figure in China. He is also known under the name Jumbao or Dangchu Zhenren ( " the true man from the cave ").

To the figure of Zhang Sanfeng is shrouded in many myths and legends. Already his year of birth is given in different sources with 960, 1247 or 1279.

According to legend, he was said to be a Daoist monk who lived in the Wudang Mountains. One day he watched the battle between a snake and a crane.
