Zhang Tingyu

Zhang Tingyu (Ch :张廷玉; Wade- Giles: Chang Ting -yu; honorary name Hengchen衡 臣; * 1672, † 1755) was a Han Chinese politicians in the Qing Dynasty.

In Tongcheng, Anhui Province, born Zhang graduated Tingyu the imperial examination and entered in 1699 under Emperor Kangxi in the civil service a. There he initially served as Secretary of State, and later under Yongzheng as prime minister and member of the State Council. He played a central role in court politics and is considered the architect of numerous political projects. In the Qianlong period, finally, he was instrumental in the Chinese- Manchurian conflict by board first-mentioned party as an informal leader. Zhang was appreciated for its integrity character as well as his loyalty to principles.

His literary talent allowed him to write the history of the Ming (明 史Mingshi ) and surrendered in 1739.
