Zhdeniievo

Schdenijewo (Ukrainian Жденієво; Ждениево Russian, Slovak Žďeňovo / Ždeňová, Hungarian Szarvasháza ) is an urban-type settlement in the Western Ukraine ( Transcarpathian Oblast, Rajon Volovets ) north of the city Svalyava.

The approximately 1100 inhabitants village lies in the valley of the river Schdeniwka ( Жденівка ) and, together with the village Sbyny ( Збини ) a district municipality.

History

1910, the place was in the Kingdom of Hungary in the Bereg county, the population was in the majority Ruthenians. After the end of World War 1 he came to the newly created Czechoslovakia (as part of the Carpathian Ukraine) and was ceded to the end of the second world war to the USSR. In 1981, the place obtained the status of an urban-type settlement.
