Zhořec (Pelhřimov District)

Zhořec ( German Shorschetz, formerly Zhoretz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers north-west of Pacov and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Zhořec is located in the southern part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. The village is situated on the southern slopes of the Pyramida ( Zhoretzberg, 639 m). To the west lies the valley of the brook Vodický creek, in the southeastern Panský springs creek. To the east extends the forest Panský les.

Neighboring towns are Velka Cerna and Jetřichovec in the north, Hladov in the northeast, Hradek in the east, Trucbaba and Pacov the southeast, Bedřichov in the south, Velka Rovná the southwest, Staňkův Mlýn, ondrejka, Hrstky and Zadnà Střítež in the west and Zhoř and Těchobuz in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village took place in 1316. The place belonged in the 14th century to the possessions of the castle Choustník. Throughout history, the name of the village of Zhoř Vysoká, Zhoř Zadnà walked in Zhorec. 1842 lived 287 people in the 34 houses of the village. Vicarage was Zhoř.

After the abolition of patrimonial Zhorec / Zhoretz formed a part of the community Zhoř in the District Commission Pelhřimov. In 1921 the village of Zhoř broke off and formed under the name Zhořec own community. 1938, Zhořec just under 200 inhabitants. Between 1948 and 1960 the church was assigned to the Okres Pacov and came up with the beginning of 1961 back to its abolition for Okres Pelhřimov. Zhořec was electrified in 1950. In 1960 the access road to Bedřichov. With Jetřichovec Zhořec is connected since 1975 by a side road. 1980, the annexation to Pacov. Since 1990 Zhořec again forms a separate municipality.
