Zhou Yongkang

Zhou Yongkang (Chinese周永康, Pinyin Zhou Yongkang, born 1942 in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province) is a Chinese leaders. From October 2007 to November 2012 he was a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Commission for Politics and Law.

From 1983 to 1985 he was mayor of Panjin City. From 2003 to 2007 he was Minister of Public Security of the People's Republic of China. He was a member from 2003 to 2008 at the Council of State.

Chinese authorities are investigating since the summer of 2013 allegations of corruption against Zhou Yongkang. So far has been that members of the Standing Committee are not prosecuted.
