Zięby

Zieby ( German finches, circle Prussian Eylau ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and is part of the gmina Górowo Iławeckie (Town of Landsberg ( Prussia ) ) in Bartoszyce powiat ( county Bartenstein ).

Geographical location

Zieby on the river Walsch (Polish: Wałsza ) is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, and is 23 km from Bagrationowsk ( Prussian Eylau ) and 33 kilometers from the modern Powiathauptstadt Bartoszyce ( Bartenstein ) away. Through the village runs the province road 512 Szczurkowo ( Schönbruch, today on the Russian- Polish border, ) and Bartoszyce and Górowo Iławeckie ( Landsberg) with Pieniężno (flour sack) connects. In this opens inside the village Zieby a north-easterly direction from Bukowiec (Buchholz ) next side street.

History

The finches to 1945 (after 1361 Vynken, before 1785 Vincken ) mentioned place was founded in the mid- medal time. In 1874 the village was at the newly established District Buchholz ( today Polish: Bukowiec ) incorporated and belonged until 1945 to the district Prussian Eylau in the district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia. In 1910, 247 people lived in finches. At that time belonged to the rural community of finches nor the villages and habitations Eight Huben (now Polish: Reszkowo ) and Grundmühle finches ( Gradowy Mlyn ) and paper mill finches ( Papiernia, both no longer exist).

On September 30, 1928, the Gutsbezirk Saraunen were (Polish: Saruny, no longer exists ) and the Vorwerk Wiechert ( Wągródka ) of Gutsbezirks Schwadtken ( Swiadi Gorowski, not more exist) amalgamated with finches. The population grew until 1933 to 350 in 1939 and was still 338

As a result of the Second World War came finches in 1945 with the southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish name " Zieby ". The place was the powiat Bartoszycki assigned ( circle Bartenstein ) and is now a village in Gmina Górowo Iławeckie (Town Landsberg) in the Warmia and Mazury ( 1975 to 1998 in the Province of Olsztyn ).

Church

Evangelischerseits belonged finches before 1945 to the parish Buchholz ( today Polish: Bukowiec ) in the parish of Prussian Eylau (now Russian: Bagrationowsk ), Diocese of Landsberg ( Prussia ) (now Polish: Górowo Iławeckie ) within the Ecclesiastical Province of East Prussia the Church of the Old Prussian Union. Catholic hand, belonged to the diocese of Warmia finches.

Today Zieby is both assigned to the Office of the Dean Górowo Iławeckie in the archdiocese of Warmia of the Catholic Church in Poland, on the other hand the church in Bartoszyce ( Bartenstein ), a branch church of the parish Ketrzyn ( Rastenburg ) in the Diocese of Masuria the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.
