Žiga Hirschler

Žiga Hirschler (surname also slavicized Hiršler; pseudonym: Hirski; * March 21, 1894 near Bjelovar, Croatia today, † 1941 in the concentration camp at Jasenovac, today Croatia) was a Yugoslavian composer and music critic.

He completed his studies in 1917 at the Music Academy of Zagreb. Subsequently he was a music critic for various newspapers (including Jutarnji List) operates. Later, he was also editor of the journal Muzičar ( The musicians). He has composed works for orchestra and piano and since the mid- 1920s, some operettas. In his estate there was the opera Dvije renesansne noći ( Two Renaissance nights), but this was never performed.
