Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers

Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers was a Jamaican reggae band consisting of siblings Cedella Marley ( b. 1967, vocals), Sharon Marley ( b. 1964, vocals), Stephen Marley ( b. 1972, vocals, guitar, drums) and Ziggy Marley (* 1968, vocals, guitar).

The band was founded in 1979 The Melody Makers debuted in the same year with the charity single Children Playing in the Streets. But it took until 1985 before the first album Play the Game Right appeared. From the second album Hey World ( 1986) they called themselves Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers.

1989, 1990 and 1998, won the group a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Recording Grammy Award for Best Reggae or album on which it was in 1986, 1992, 1994 and 1996 nominee.
