The Žilina Airport ( Slow Letisko Žilina ) is located about 10 kilometers west of Žilina near the town Dolny Hričov in the north-west Slovakia.
The airport was built in the 1970s as a replacement for the discontinued airport Brezovský Majer in Žilina. The first flight took place on May 4, 1972; officially the airport on August 2, 1974 was opened.
Airlines and destinations
The only regular air service offered at Czech Airlines to Prague. This was discontinued in August 2012 initially.
