Zim (Software)

For Zim, there are several plugins; For example, the inclusion of a calendar. A whole database ( " notebook " ) can be exported to HTML documents.

It is written in Python and has a GTK - based graphical user interface (using PyGTK and pygobject ). The first (test) version was released on 21 September 2005. Up to and including version 0:29 Zim was written in Perl.

Availability

Zim is distributed as free software in source code under the terms of the GNU General Public License ( GPL). It is available for Linux and Windows systems precompiled and is also capable of running on Mac OS X, the easiest way to MacPorts. Under Fedora, Debian and Ubuntu, it is possible to install Zim directly from the package source. Zim also works on Maemo on the Nokia N900 Internet Tablet in a customized version.
