Muzorewa was finally able to remove the name of Rhodesia from the country name. It was also assumed a new flag under his government.

Through the Lancaster House Agreement, the control of the country in preparation for the elections in the spring of 1980 was returned to the UK. Thus, the country's name was again Rhodesia.
