Zinc–bromine battery

For a zinc-bromine accumulator ( short zinc-bromine battery) is an embodiment of the accumulator, in which the electrode in the charged state consisting of bromine and zinc.

Chemical Processes

Upon discharge the following chemical processes take place:

Positive Pole:

Negative Pole:

( When charging, the processes run in the opposite direction. )

The overall reaction:

To the right, the battery discharge takes place, to the left the charge.

The theoretical potential difference is 1.83 V.
