Zirl Parish Church

The Roman Catholic parish church of the Holy Cross Zirl is the largest church in the municipality of Zirl in Tyrol.

It was in the 19th century under the direction of Cons. Peter Alois Bauer and early knives Alois Moriggl built. The church painter Franz Josef Plattner with Arnold the Younger designed from the entire interior with frescoes in powerfully bright colors. The work employed the painter for a long time, as were, for example, the ceiling frescoes were created 1862-1874. Also noteworthy are the abstract decorative motifs that fill the walls of the church completely, and the gilded pulpit.

Architecture

The dominant use of the round arch lined up over the building under the neo-Romanesque buildings of the 19th century. Frescoes

Organ

The organ of the parish church dates back to a new building by Josef Aigner ( Schwaz ) from the years 1851/52. The housing, the neo-gothic decorative elements is included to be compared in its design language typical of Aigner and can do well with other instruments of his workshop. The superstructure is divided into two parts, so as not to completely cover the organ located behind the window. 1948/49, and 1981, the original 30 registers comprehensive instrument was rebuilt, both work led the company Reinisch Pirchner from ( Steinach am Brenner ).
