Żmigród
Żmigród [' ʐmigrut ] ( German: Trachenberg ) is a Polish town in powiat Trzebnicki in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and is located on the Bartsch. By 1945 Trachenberg was a town in the district Militsch the Prussian government district Breslau.

City Arms
The coat of arms of Żmigród shows in red field a gray tower, which is crowned with a golden cross. To the tower winds up a green dragon.
The city's name comes from the Old Polish word Żmij, the dragon and Grod, the castle.

Science and Education
Railway attempt Ring
A few kilometers west of the town, the railway test track from Instytut Kolejnictwa. It was formerly by the Polish State Railway (Polish: Polskie Koleje Państwowe, PKP) operated and includes besides the railway tracks a research center and a branch of the Research Institute for highways and bridges from Warsaw. On the test site, which among other things a railway ring includes, for example, were carried out from 1997 to 2001 attempts Safetrain project.

Economy
Much of the population lives from agriculture and forestry (large hunting areas in the surrounding forests ). The largest employer in the city is the steel construction company " Energomontaż ". The town also has 800 private companies, many of them one-man company, registered.
