Zonaria

Zonaria is a melodic death metal band from Umeå (Sweden).

History

Zonaria was originally founded in 2001 by Simon Berglund, Christoffer Wikström and Mikael Hammarberg under the name Seal Precious. Initially they played power metal, in which they genre-typical "clean " singing. In 2003, when the second guitarist Emil Nyström joined the band, they changed the band's name in Zonaria. Two years they played mainly in a small radius around their home until they recorded their first demo album Evolution Overdose 2005. After the release the band changed parts of the cast and took Emanuel " Cebbe " Isaksson as a drummer and bassist Jerry Ekman on. Through the published demo record label Pivotal Rockordings became aware of it, but not there was a contract.

In November 2006 Zonaria signed a recording contract with Pivotal Rockordings. Shortly after the signing, they worked with members of Scar Symmetry on her debut album, which was released in 2007. After the change of bassist Jerry Ekman Markus Åkebo they took the video for the first single The Armageddon Anthem. Zonaria tours since early 2008 as the opening act for Marduk through Europe.

In 2008, the band signed with the label Century Media to record their second album the same year in Studio Fredman.
