Zooid

As zooids individual animals colonial live animals are called. The individual zooids are either grow together as in various cnidarians ( Cnidaria ), the Catenuliden flatworms or the cup of worms ( Ectroprocta ) or they are located within a residential tube ( extrazooidales skeleton Zooecium ), which is the linking structure of the colony. The latter is found for example in the bryozoans ( Bryozoa ) or the Flügelkiemern ( Pterobranchia ).
