Zorlu Holding

Zorlu Holding A.Ş., abbreviated with Zorlu Holding, is the third largest industrial and financial group in Turkey ( after Koç Holding and Sabancı Holding).

Hacı Mehmet Zorlu 1953 founded the company in the southwestern Turkish city Babadağ near Denizli. Until 1961, the company founder director of the company and then handed it to his two sons Ahmet Nazif and Zeki.

The Zorlu Holding controls 50 companies, many of which are national leaders in their respective fields. The group has 30,000 employees and operates in 110 countries. Its business areas include electronics, energy, information technology ( Vestel ), financial services and textile industry ( Korteks and Linens ).

1994, joined the Vestel Zorlu family. It is one of the world's largest TV manufacturers. The Company's businesses are in the electronics, white goods as well as in information technology.

1997 Ahmet Nazif allowed by his new acquisition, Deniz Bank, one of the largest banks in Turkey, which is also represented outside of Turkey as in Germany and Austria with Deniz Bank AG and Russia with Deniz Bank Moscow. On 31 May 2006, the fourth largest Belgian bank Dexia Group has acquired 75 percent of the shares of Deniz Bank of the Zorlu Holding for 2.437 million dollars. This proportion was expanded to 99.79 percent.

The company's headquarters was moved in 1970 from Denizli to Istanbul and is located in a skyscraper in Avcılar. Board of Directors of the holding company, the two brothers Ahmet Nazif Zorlu and Zeki are thus the second generation from the Zorlu family.
