Zulfiya (poet)

Zulfiya ( Cyrillic Зульфия, with full name Zulfiya Isroilova, Russian Зульфия Исраилова Sulfija Israilowa; * 1.jul / January 14 1915greg in Tashkent, .. † 1996 ibid ) was an Uzbek writer.

Zulfiya came from a Tashkent foundry and artisan family. Your first poem in an Uzbek newspaper was published in Ishchi ( "workers" ) on July 17, 1931 her first collection of poetry ( Hayot varaqlari, "Pages of Life" ) was published in 1932. Zulfiya became the " National Poet " (1965) and " Hero of Socialist Labor " (1984) appointed; In 1976 she was the winner of the State Prize of the USSR for literature and art. After her death in 1996, an Uzbek State Prize for Women was created in 1999, which was named after her.
