Zürcher Theater Spektakel

The theater spectacle Zurich is an international theater festival, which is held every summer for 18 days in Zurich -Wollishofen on Lake Zurich. It takes place in various places, among other things on the festival site and the Rote Fabrik.

The event originated in 1980 as an international meeting of independent theater groups. Today appear at the festival 25 to 30 different international groups, performing artists, artistes and talents from the off - theater. The program includes various performances such as video theater, political theater, new music, dance and performance. The festival is led since 2007 by Sandro Lunin, Cornelia Howald and Werner Hegglin. Since 1986, the Zurich Cantonal Bank gives the ZKB Patronage and the ZKB recognition award at the end of the festival.

2009 was one of the Zurich Theatre Spectacle total of about 120,000 visitors. For the 100 performances a total of 29,000 counting machines were sold, representing an average utilization of all representations of 85 percent.
