Zvíkov (Český Krumlov District)

Zvíkov ( German Zwickau ) is a municipality with 58 inhabitants ( 2006) in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers north-west of Kaplice and belongs to Okres Český Krumlov. The land area is 293 ha

Geography

The place is located in 578 m asl in the hill country west of the Malse. East of Zvíkov runs the European Route 55 / State Road 3 between Velešína and Kaplice. Zvíkov is crossed by the Summerauer train, but does not have a train stop.

Neighboring towns are U Nádrazí and boron in the north, and Velešína Chodec in the northeast, Korbel, Hřeben and Dlouhá in the east, in the southeast Výheň, Netřebice in the south, Zubčická Lhotka in the west and Markvartice in the northwest.

History

The first mention of the place Zwiekow dates from the year 1371st

Until the 20th century the village was divided. Besides Zvíkov, which formed a part of the community Netřebice, there was still the proportion Chodec - Zvíkov, which was belonging to the municipality Chodec.
