Zygmunt Smalcerz

Zygmunt Smalcerz ( born June 8, 1941 in Bestwinka ) is a former Polish weightlifter.

Sporting career

Smalcerz was during his sporting career three-time world - and four times European champion at flyweight (then to 52 kg). The highlight of his career presented the Olympic gold medal in Munich in 1972 in the 52 kg category dar. He set four world records, two of them in the snatch and clean and jerk each one in the press. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the IMF in 2002.
