's Gravenmoer

's- Gravenmoer is a village in the northern part of the Dutch province of North Brabant. 2220 inhabitants ( 2004) in it. Since 1997, the formerly independent municipality of the district of the municipality of Dongen.

History

's- Gravenmoer was founded in 1308 at a Moorkanal and originally belonged to the county of Holland, whose dominion included a part of the area south of the River Meuse. In November 1421, the village was badly affected by the Second St. Elisabeth flood. During the Eighty Years' War, the village was trying to be added to the Duchy of Brabant, but eventually came to Holland in 1734 final. At the founding of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands after the fall of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1814 's- Gravenmoer part of the newly established province of North Brabant. The place remained an independent municipality until 1997 and was then incorporated to Dongen.
