() Is the title of the album, published in 2002 by the Icelandic band Sigur Rós. It contains eight untitled pieces.

It is the third album by the band and is split into two parts: The first four songs are loud band "light and optimistic", while the last four rather " dark and melancholic " are. These two halves are separated on the plate by a 36 -second silence.

The tracks on the album are sung by Jón Þór Birgisson singer in a self-created language called vonlenska (German hoffnungsländisch ), which is composed of meaningless sounds which resemble the Icelandic, but also sound a little English. The phrases in vonlenska be repeated within the pieces often, but also pull through the whole album through, which makes the connection between the songs with each other clearly. The listeners of the album are the band according to a statement explicitly invited to make about the content of the songs themselves thoughts and add them to the eight blank pages of the booklet.

Track list, working title of the songs together with translations

All tracks on the album have not yet officially on the CD a name. This is also part of the idea that you would like to leave it to the listener himself what he thinks of the songs. To the songs yet to be able to distinguish, "Untitled 1" initially to "Untitled 8" enforced. Meanwhile, however, there are also often the earlier working title for the name of the songs (such as " Vaka " for " Untitled 1 " ) as on the DVD " Heima " (2007 ) and the acoustic EP " Home " (2007).
