. bd is the country code top -level domain ( ccTLD) of Bangladesh. It exists since 20 May 1999, has been managed since launch by the State Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (Ministry of Post & Telecommunications).
The extension can only be used on third level. That is, abc.bd can not be registered, as is the case with the majority of ccTLDs. Instead, a total of seven second- level domains are available, for example. Com.bd. Net.bd and. Org.bd. The use of. Mil.bd and. Gov.bd are reserved for the authorities of the country. In 2010, the contracting authority in ICANN has formally applied to the introduction of an internationalized version of. Bd. Bangladesh, making it the fifth state who supported internationalized domain names.
