07 Vestur

07 Vestur ( "07 West" ) is a Faroese football club based in Sørvágur on the island Vágar.

History

07 Vestur was as FS Vágar 2004, full name Fótbóltssamtakið Vágar 2004 ( "Football Union Vágar 2004" ), abbreviated founded on 8 November 2004 FSV04. He thus entered the successor of FS Vágar. In attendance were 65 people. The first board was elected: Ari Thomassen as chairman, Napolion Magnussen as a deputy, Atli Gregersen as treasurer, secretary and Hedin Jørgensen Sigfrid Olsen, Egil Petersen, Heini Holm and Bjarni Prior as assessor.

The end of 2007 it was decided as the previous club again enter into a merger with SÍ Sørvágur, which officially came into existence on November 6, 2007. As a new name 07 Vestur was announced. This relates in part to the foundation year, on the other hand to the position of Vágar Island (7 ° W ). In the first season under a new name succeeded as First prize the first Deild immediate promotion to the Vodafonedeildin, but was finished last again directly the descent. 2010 occupied 07 Vestur again took first place in the second division, but was again only a year left in the top division. The women's team played as FS Vágar 2004 2005 in the first Deild. As 07 Vestur the club finished second in a lottery syndicate with MB Miðvágur in the 2nd Deild 2009 the first place, then the gaming community, however, was dissolved.
