1- tetradecanol (or myristyl alcohol ) is a long chain monohydric alcohol selected from the group consisting of fatty alcohols. It is a white, waxy solid with fettsäureartigem odor.
Production and representation
1- tetradecanol, can be obtained by reduction of myristic acid or a number of fatty acid esters with reagents such as lithium aluminum hydride or sodium.
Use
